The Lake Constance Foundation is a project-oriented organization for nature conservation. It works towards sustainable economy in the international Lake Constance area and beyond since 1994. The founders are six private environmental organizations from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The fields of action are:
- Business and Biodiversity.
- Environmentally Fair Agriculture and Land Use.
- Bioenergy and Regional Climate Protection.
- Sustainable Municipal Management.
- Re-naturalization of Riparian Forests.
The Lake Constance Foundation represents the Lake Constance in the global lake network Living Lakes.
The advisory board incorporates about 20 environmental protection alliances from three countries, which form together the Environmental Council of Lake Constance.
As civil law foundation, the Lake Constance Foundation is able to act and cooperate without any political and administrative commitments. In particular, the organization aims at partnerships with small and medium businesses, local authorities and stakeholders.
