Fundación Global Nature was created in 1993 and it is a private entity that works in the whole national territory of Spain and it has a non-profit nature. Its objectives are related to the conservation, protection and management of the environment. The projects developed by Fundación Global Nature deal with the maintenance and restoration of endangered habitats and species, technological innovation, conservation of traditional farming activities and land stewardship programmes. As an educational non-profit foundation, its projects have a large component of environmental awareness- raising through the organisation of courses, seminars, conferences, work camps and publishing of research works.
Fundación Global Nature has been closely linked to the European LIFE Programme, and it now participates in another project related to climate change at Las Rozas City Council (Spain) and in a project aimed at promoting the integration of biodiversity issues in business activities (“European Business and Biodiversity Campaign”).
