Solagrois a French NGO whose aim is to promote innovative options to enhance sustainability in the fields of energy, environment and agriculture. By working at the intersection of project development and general studies, Solagro ensures that its expertise is closely connected to farmers’ real life constraints.
Solagrois a leader in France in the design of evaluation tools and indicators which assist farmers in shifting their production methods so as to serve economic viability and the environment. Solagro has developed 2 tools at farm scale “DIALECTE” (dialecte.solagro.org) and “PLANETE” (with 3,500 farms registered in the databases). PLANETE is specifically focused on assessing energy consumption and GHG emissions on farms. It is now moving on to become “Dia’TerreÒ” and will serve as an official national tool managed by the French environment and energy management agency (ADEME) to assess farms’ record with regard to energy use and GHG emissions. Dia’TerreÒwas developed in conjunction with ADEME and various national professional organizations.
